Astragalus Root is an herb that is used in natural medicines. It is also a natural ingredient found in GenF20 Plus. Astragalus Root is used to treat many conditions. Let’s look at some of the benefits and the side effects or risks associated with it.
Commonly you will find Astragalus used in combination with other herbs.
There are a number of different Astragalus species. Some even contain the toxin called swainsonine and has actually been directly linked to livestock poisonings. Other species include Astragalus mollissimus and Astragalus lentiginosus among others. However, these are not the ones generally used in dietary supplements. Most supplements contain Astragalus membranaceus.
Astragalus works by stimulating the immune system.
There is evidence that shows Astragalus Root when used in combination with Glossy Privet may increase breast cancer survival in those who are receiving conventional treatments.
There is research suggesting products that contain Astragalus could increase the effectiveness of platinum based chemotherapy treatments for lung cancer.
Carol W. Greider, Elizabeth H. Blackburn, and Jack W. Szostak received the 2009 Nobel Prize in Physiology of Medicine for their discoveries into cell division and into how chromosomes can be copied without degradation.
What they found was the importance of maintaining the healthy telomeres in the body, which are the protective ends of chromosomes, through the reigniting of the growth of telomerase. Research has found that some Astragalus molecules actually contribute to the growth of these telomeres, which are effective at reversing the aging process.
Cells divide to repair and renew so that they can maintain your body. Your DNA molecules carry the genetic code of your body, which are copied so that they can reproduce a new, identical cell. The telomeres on the ends of the chromosomes act as protective coverings to guard the cells' delicate sequences from degradation as they are copied. The telomerase enzymes continue to form new telomeres in order to facilitate this constant process of rejuvenation by maintaining these protective ends.
The problem with the human body is the rejuvenation of these telomeres on their own doesn’t always occur optimally and as a result we experience aging. Leonard Hayflick, who was a geneticist, discovered back in 1965 that the majority of cells in the body divide a certain number of times and then die off, which confirms we do indeed have a biological clock that is responsible for limiting cell division.
Back in 1990, the Nature journal published an article that went on to explain this process that made cellular telomere’s easier to understand. While telomeres act to protect DNA strand end, they will slightly shorten every time the cell’s divide. In the early years telomerase enzymes restore the diminishing telomeres. However, as we get older these telomerase enzymes no longer exist in our genetic makeup and so the telomeres start to slowly recede, which eventually, over time, leads to our death.
Because of all the research that scientists who are interested in the aging process have done on telomeres, a direct link between these telomeres and aging has been established. They have also made great strides discovering viable therapies that have the ability to jump start a person’s telomerase enzyme producing genes. The Astragalus root has been linked to these therapies.
Astragalus root contains astragalosides and cycloastragenols, which are two very powerful molecules linked to the activation and production of telomerase enzymes. The research has shown that when these molecules are available in large doses then they potentially can prevent the depletion of telomeres and rebuild those that have already been lost.
TA-65 was the first patented synthetic Astragalus to hit the market, but since this discovery many new products have come to market that contain Astragalus root in doses that are effective in slowing, even reversing, the aging process.
Astragalus supplements or extracts that are a heavier dose are said to be as effective at rejuvenating the growth of telomeres as TA-65. It seems we might really be able to turn back time, at least when it comes to aging. Astragalus is also found in the GenFX20 Plus HGH supplement, which is promoted as an anti aging supplement.
Of course, more research needs to be done on Astragalus Root. But in the mean time you can do some things to reduce the aging process which includes take a B vitamin supplement to help keep your homocysteine levels balance and your trimethylglycine levels in check, along with taking GenF20 Plus an HGH releaser which has many natural ingredients that can help slow the aging process and create a leaner more functioning body for you. Astragalus Root Side Effects
All the side effects of Astragalus are not known, so those that are pregnant or nursing should not take Astragalus. What is known is that taking 28 grams or more of Astragalus will cause one’s immune system to become less active. As a result those that suffer from conditions like rheumatoid arthritis or lupus should avoid using Astragalus as their symptoms may get worse.
