It seems with every New Year comes a whole new list of sex studies. We thought it would be fun to look at some of the more unusual ones. While the usefulness of these studies might not be obvious, they are worth a read.
#1 Bigger Is Not Better
This is an age old question and it seems a study done by PLOS
discovered that the longer your penis is, the more likely your wife will
cheat on you. It seems it is uncomfortable and even painful for women to
accommodate a big penis. The bigger a man's erection the more likely a
woman is to seek out a more compatible partner.
#2 Sex Behind the Wheel
According to the University of South Dakota it seems that sex behind the
wheel while driving goes largely unreported and that there is definitely
a need for a preventative effort. The top sexual act while driving is a
woman giving a man a blow job. You might have already guessed that. But
what you might not have guessed, is that 11% of male drivers are busy
taking care of their woody. Can we say distracted driving in both cases.
#3 The Pill and a Woman’s Sex Drive
This study is actually interesting and may explain a few things in your
life. According to the National Academy of Sciences when a woman stops
taking birth control she might not be attracted to her long term sexual
partner any longer. That's because the pill messes with her hormones and
it can alter traits that make a man attractive to her.
#4 Sex Protects your Prostate
According to a recent study done by the University of Montreal frequent
orgasms (21+ more) can protect you from developing prostate cancer.
Interestingly, this study also found that the more women you have sex
with, the lower your risk of prostate cancer. In fact, if you have slept
with 20+ women you reduce your risk of prostate cancer by 28%. The study
speculates that this is because these men have more orgasms than the
average man.
#5 Sex is a Natural Prozac
Putting aside all the risks like getting an STD, according to a study
out of Cornell University and NYU, those people who are drawn to having
one night stands or flings with no strings attached, have much lower
levels of depression and anxiety. It seems this behavior helps increase
self confidence so it's helpful in creating life satisfaction.
#6 Women Find Facial Hair Attractive
Studies about facial hair aren't new. But a recent one out of Australia
shows the underlying reason for women loving a guy's facial hair is
linked to the men around them. The study found that if a face stands out
from those around them they are attracted. So, if everyone in the room
is clean shaven and you have facial hair, there is going to be an
attraction. Of course, it can work the other way too.
#7 Sexual Fantasies of Those That are Asexual
It’s a pretty common belief that an asexual person does not have sexual fantasies.
Two Canadian researchers investigated sexual fantasies in asexual people and
what they found was that only 8% claimed they had never had a sexual fantasy.
7 interesting studies that have no real value, but are definitely fun reading.
